Quite a difficult decision when you can only choose 5 CD’s!
Here they go, in alphabetical order:
- Amsterdam Loeki Stardust Quartet: A Concorde of Sweete Sound (L’Oiseau-Lyre, 1993)
- Karl-Ernst Schröder & Crawford Young: Amours Amours Amours (Harmonia Mundi, 2002)
- More Hispano — Vicente Parrilla: Glosas (Carpe Diem, 2011)
- Musica Antiqua Köln — Reinhard Goebel: French Baroque Concertos (DG Archiv, 1995)
- Pedro Memelsdorff & Andreas Staier: Delight in disorder (Deutsche Harmonia Mundi, 1995)

Jean Tubéry & La Fenice : Motetti, Madrigali e Canzoni Francesi diminuiti
Oh Yes!! A time ago I was quite addicted to that CD! Good I didn’t think of it when I wrote this post, otherwise it would have been still more difficult 😉
Nr. 13 Pulchra es amica mea, per basso alla bastarda is amazing, as we usually never get to hear these things!
Thanks for posting 🙂
immense hugs for you, from the patagonia argentina, Milena.
one of my favorite recordings is “music for two lutes, from Dresden manuscript”, by robert barto and karl-ernest schroeder. A friend and I are transcribing sylvius music to two guitars … especially these duets.
Nice, thanks for the tip! I’ll listen to that very soon!
